First Week of School Pictures

It is so wonderful to see pictures the teachers put up of the girls during their first week of school.  I know that the girls are enjoying the teachers, classmates and "schoolwork" but, it is nice to see their smiles while they are away from me too. 

Bianca's favorite "class" so far is science - no real surprise there!  I can hardly get her out of their science lab rooms every time we walk by them to pick up or drop off her sister.  Ellia comes home singing the songs that they sung throughout the day and pretending to play "school".  She also tries to replicate circle time.  She places books on the floor in a circle (in place of the mats that they have at school) and then she and Bianca put their stuffed animals on top of the books.  I'm not quite sure what happens after that because I have just kind of walked in on this a few times but, I'm sure that Ellia is either "reading" her students a book or singing to them.

First Day of Preschool

Bianca insisted that we take pictures with Carrera. 

 First day of preschool was a success!  These pictures don't do the day justice, everyone looks like they are still sleeping.  Ellia had a fit during pictures because I snapped this first picture of Bianca without Ellia in it (I didn't know Ellia wanted to be in the picture).  So Ellia does not look happy here but, both girls ran right into their classrooms once we arrived at school.  I was so proud of them, especially Ellia who had never been to preschool or anywhere really without me before.  When I went to pick them up later that day, Bianca's teacher told me she was "hilarious" and Ellia's teacher said she had a great day and she was "very helpful". Sounds about right to me!

 And I had to include these pictures because they just make me laugh even though they have nothing to do with preschool.  Ellia is such a little "ham" while Bianca prefers to just observe everything and everyone, she takes it all in. 

Where she learns these poses I will never know!

My two little love bugs!

The Princess and the Pooch

 She calls me to "Come look, Mommy!".  This is what I find...  my little Sleeping Beauty with her best doggie friend in the whole world.  Then she says things like, "Awww, she's so cute.  Look, Mommy, she put her paw on me.".  Thank goodness the girls have more than enough appreciation of Carrera for our whole family.

When I ask her to smile for the camera she makes this silly face where she kind of scrunches up her nose and does something funny with her mouth.

Here she is saying "cheese".  I don't know how she knows to point out her dimples like this but, she does.  Makes me laugh!

First Visitors

 Mimi and Poppy brought Aidan and Atlee over for a night during their trip back to FL from VA beach.  The girls were so excited to see their cousins!  They went swimming, had a pizza party, watched some of the Olympics and had a slumber party on air mattresses.  We wish they could have stayed longer but, hopefully they will come back to see us soon or will we will have to make a trip up North.

Sometimes she looks like such a big girl to me.  Other times she is still my baby.

And this is where you can usually find the girls at

 lunchtime when we are home.  They love eating out on the screened-in porch.  They also love having "parties" out there with Carrera, Mommy and Daddy. 

Another favorite hangout is the backyard.  They play with leaves, sticks, pine needles, pine cones.  Today Bianca told me I HAD to come outside to see a round circle of rocks with a bunch of bugs living close by.  It is her "bug collection".  She also told me to get her "crafts" because she wanted to glue and paint the sticks.  Guess I need to look up some projects involving things from the outdoors.
