Georgia Aquarium

Our second road trip since moving to Charlotte was to Georgia to visit the aquarium.  After learning that it was the world's largest aquarium, I knew we needed to go.  Bianca, my little marine biologist, was blown away by the whale sharks and beluga whales among other things.  The girls were able to touch so many sea creatures like sharks, rays, sea anemones, sea stars, sea urchins, etc.  After a full day at the aquarium, we took the kids on a horse-drawn carriage ride (even though I felt bad for the horse).  Add in some delicious meals which included a bison burger joint owned by Ted Turner and an authentic southern restaurant and we couldn't have asked for a better weekend.  The kids were so well behaved and Sebastian was a breeze to travel with.  Hope they keep this behavior up for our next trip!

Bianca and her new dolphin that she named "Pearl".

Our horse, "Tiny".

I love the look on the girls faces as we rode around the downtown area.

Sebastian...4, 5, and 6 Months

I take so many pictures of the kids (even if most are on my iphone) and have so little time to upload them here onto my digital scrapbook, if you will.  I am finding three is definitely the number of kids where Mommy has pretty much no time at all to do anything except for make sure the kids are dressed, fed, and where they are supposed to be at any given time.  It is pretty difficuly to squeeze anything extra into that equation.  But, I digress.  Back to Sebastian...he is growing so quickly.  Here he is at 4, 5, and 6 months.  I wish I could tell you what he was doing at 4 and 5 months but, I honestly can't remember now.  I do now that at six months he is doing (or not doing) the following:

*He doesn't appear to have any interest in crawling yet.  He hangs out in tummy time and is content to check out his surroundings, his toys, etc.
*He does move across the room but, he does it by rolling.  He loves to flip and flop and usually laughs while he is doing it.
*Sebastian can sit on his own now but, needs support or he will topple over after a short period of time.
*He just recently started eating baby cereal and seems to really enjoy it, especially at night.  He looks so tiny in his high chair, opens his mouth like a little bird and leans forward for the spoon.
*He is so happy and smiles for anyone and everyone.  No matter where we are whether it is the girls' school, Trader Joe's, etc. he gives everyone who talks to him the biggest smile.  Most people comment on how he makes their day!
*He loves his pacifiers but, will suck his left thumb if no paci is available.
*One of his favorite activities is to bounce in his rainforest bounceroo.  He also enjoys having Mommy read him pop-up books.

Easter 2013 in Florida

If Christmas was the holiday of the Flu, then Easter was the holiday of gastroenteritis (although on a much smaller scale).  Fortunately, we had a heck of a lot more good times to make up for the pesky stomach flu that overtook Ellia on Easter day.
We started off with the girls having their Easter celebrations at school.  Bianca's class took part in Calvary's school parade.  The girls in her class were flowers and the boys were sunshine.  We followed that up with a party involving crafts, an egg hunt and lots of delicious treats.  Ellia also had a class Easter party during which she sang a solo about the resurrection (cue proud Mommy moment).  See video below.
After the parties, the five of us drove down to Jacksonville to spend the week at Mimi's and Poppy's.  Unfortunately Daddy had to fly back to CLT to work for the week but, came back down the following weekend to help us drive home.  During our time there, Ellia came down with the stomach flu on Easter Day but, quickly rebounded so that she could join in on all of the fun.  The girls went to the beach, the zoo, the MOSH museum and Disney on Ice among other things.  They certainly are spoiled when we visit FL to say the least! Sebastian was as happy as ever and was easy to travel with.  He dressed up in Easter pajamas to celebrate his first Easter with us.

Although Ellia was sick on Easter morning, she couldn't resist a pink Peep!
